Even though the only thing on our radar this weekend was the launch of Hovey Vintage, other New Yorkers celebrated the annual Mermaid Parade at Coney Island. My friend and fellow photographer, Bradford Robotham, took me for the first time two years ago and we followed in so many great photographers footsteps and tried to captured its essence and history. It's sad to think that this might be the last year. This 1938 Morris Engel print, Water Fountain Coney Island, is up for auction on Artnet -- bids are starting at $1,300.June 23, 2008
